DO I HAVE PRESBYOPIA OR EYESTRAIN?

Do you hold your mobile away from you to read your messages?

When you're doing the shopping, do you hold products at arm’s length to read the ingredients?

Do you need good light to see details close up?

If you answered ‘YES’ to any of these questions, we can ensure you that you've enter the world of presbyopia or eyestrain, as it is more commonly known.

Presbyopia or Eyestrain is a decreasing ability to focus close up, which normally comes on after 40-45 years of age. Objects nearby become blurry or out of focus at a normal distance. People suffering from presbyopia often find themselves holding objects at arm’s length in order to focus better.

As presbyopia advances over the years, this decreasing ability to focus close up also starts to affect intermediate distances. This loss continues increasing, up to a certain point.

CAN I PREVENT OR  AVOID PRESBYOPIA?

This isn’t a condition or something that can be avoided with any preventative treatment. Sooner or later, presbyopia affects us all. It is a natural process caused by changes in the internal structure of the eye. It is completely normal and inevitable.

HOW CAN I CORRECT OR ALLEVIATE PRESBYOPIA?

Fortunately, nowadays we have several different ways of correcting presbyopia. The simplest, most comfortable, non-invasive way is with ophthalmological lenses: wearing eyeglasses. We can choose several pairs of glasses, each one for focusing at a different distance, or choose the simpler and more comfortable option of wearing one pair of glasses with progressive lenses.

Other options include contact lenses and surgery.
